A special day learning traditional maori medicine
On Tuesday 11th February, we were honoured to host Marama, Maria and Hununa from the House of Rehua at the Te Rangimarie, our day patient cottage. Attending this we had both staff and volunteers who help us at Special Time, both here in Kerikeri and also in the South Hokianga.
There was lots of learning to be had, identifying plants and their healing purposes that would be useful for Hospice patients. Making teas and tonics - it was an informative, fun and really interesting workshop.
House of Rehua is home to three generations of women practicing and sharing the healing knowledge of their tupuna ancestors. Specialising in mirimiri massage and rongoa plant medicine.
