Tyrepower New Zealand has partnered with Hospice New Zealand to help raise much needed funds. Since October 2018 for every Cooper Tyre sold at Tyrepower Kerikeri, Hospice Mid-Northland receives $5 per tyre. House of Rehua Workshop
On Tuesday 11th February, we were honoured to host Marama, Maria and Hununa from the House of Rehua at the Te Rangimarie, our day patient cottage. Attending this we had both staff and volunteers who help us at Special Time, both here in Kerikeri and also in the South Hokianga.There was lots of learning to be had, identifying plants and their healing purposes that would be useful for Hospice patients. Blu Heelers raise over $20,000 for Hospice
This year's Blu Heelers Charity Fishing Tournament has raised $20,040 for Hospice Mid-Northland.There was a record number of anglers this year - 192 with 65 boats registered. The anglers coming from all over New Zealand. Northland prisoners find sewing inspiring, despite initially considering it 'women's work'
A sewing class is teaching male prisoners valuable life skills, as well as helping them contribute to the community. Despite initially considering sewing "women's work", a group of prisoners at Northland Region Corrections Facility at Ngāwhā are now dedicated to the sewing workshops five mornings a week. On Tuesday we were so excited to receive a cheque from Marietjie Crichton, Northland Waste, to the amount of $10,005.50! For the sale of every green rubbish bag, Hospice receives 5 cents. It is a fantastic passive income stream, one that we love to celebrate and shout from the rooftops! Annually this certainly adds up to a jaw dropping sum! Hospice Mid-Northland celebrates 30 years in the Mid North area!
This year is our 30th year operating in the Mid-North area and we celebrated with a movie premiere at Cathay Cinema on Thursday 8th August. We had a blast! Harcourts Foundation Grant to purchase 2 new hosptal beds
Last year Hospice Mid-Northland were the recipients of a Harcourts Foundation Grant of $5428, of which we applied to be able to purchase 2 hospital beds for our patients.
